Welcome To Estuary View Escapes
Estuary View Escapes
Estuary View Escapes is a new Camper Van Site situated in Millom, Cumbria, UK, offering stunning views of the Duddon Estuary and surrounding hills.
Tucked away in nature’s embrace, this wild camping site offers a peaceful and calm environment. It is a quiet haven where you can unwind and experience the untouched beauty of the wilderness. Why not come to a quiet site with few frills but one of the best views in the country? Come and stay for a while; you won’t be disappointed!
The site is located on Millom Pier, a historic landmark constructed in 1866 as a port for iron ore and passenger transportation. It was vital in shipping iron ore from Hodbarrow Mines and serving as a terminal for ferries to the Isle of Man and other destinations. However, the decline in iron ore demand led to decreased activity and eventual closure.
In the early 1990s, Millom Pier underwent restoration to preserve its historic character and transform it into a recreational facility. Today, it has become a popular spot for locals and visitors, providing panoramic coastal views and as a focal point for community events, fishing, and leisure activities. Millom Pier stands as a reminder of the town’s industrial heritage and connection to the past’s shipping and mining industries.
